I am a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at The University of Tokyo.
I studied Philosophy and German Literature at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, where I earned my master’s degree in Philosophy and German Linguistics. After receiving a PhD in Linguistics from Humboldt University of Berlin, I served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Göttingen and at Goethe University Frankfurt. From 2023 to 2026, I was a visiting professor at Humboldt University. Currently, I am a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo (KOMEX). My research focuses on the semantics of mood and the syntax-semantics interface of clausal embedding.
